Ok guys,

How much is this Laptop really worth (What are you prepared to pay?)

I have had multiple offers of $800 over the past month or two, probably about 10 offers for $800. Plus more offers for slightly higher.

It seems like $800-$850 is the most people are willing to pay.

I look at the specs and think it's worth more than $800, but I seem to be getting $800 offers every day. If you can find me a Laptop that is being sold in NZ with the specs this Laptop has for $800, I will eat my hat :P

Are people just after a bargain?

Advice? Drop the price even more? Keep at it?

Want to shift before Xmas.

New or not, this is essentially a second hand computer, there is no consumer protection or warranty, and you can only expect second hand prices.

It sounds like the market is doing a pretty good job of telling you what it's worth.

Your problem is your greed, and that's probably putting people off.

I wouldn't call it greed. Its what I think its worth, which is probably different to what the market is willing to pay, which is now what I am

However. I did notice this auction sell recently for $1200. Based on the specs, I dont think an extra 8GB Ram, and what other small upgrades this laptop had, is worth the extra $400. Add to the fact that it wasn't sealed.

I assume you've tried it to put it up on trademe?  Selling (and buying) stuff there can be a bit of a dice roll, an item can stay there forever and unsold, and when all hope is lost, some suckers purchased it.

Price wise I reckon 800 is a good bargain, 1200 is a bit over for a 2nd.

I've got a similar spec'ed brand new Dell with touchscreen and 16gb, 1tb sshd, for $800 about half a year ago, even listed in here in the bargains section, but it was a one off and I suspected they may have some sort of incorrect pricing or something

Thats because the market determines the price, not the seller .
Being realistic, IF someone had $900 cash in hand, a forum or trademe is the last place you would look with that sort of spend.

The fact that it still hasnt sold must surely say a lot as to its real MARKET value.
6 months time, it will be worth even less , its not even a current model anymore. And the warranty will be slowly staring to expire .

Only the other hand, sometimes you just get lucky & find someone willing to spend too much. It happens :-)

Fair points, however can you find me a Laptop which is being sold in NZ that has the specs this one does, for $900 or cheaper?

Im yet to find one, but have barely looked.
