At the moment I'm just checking if anyone would be interested on this, not sure about the value of it, was around $400K new :)

A pair of EMC CX4 Fibre Channel SANs, around 4 years old, no longer covered by the EMC warranty.

Each of the units have 30x1TB 7.2K SATA drives and 42x450GB 15K SAS drives, to the total raw capacity across is around 96TB.

I have upgraded the disk / unit firmware to the latest before decommissioning.

If the shelves are consolidated into one SAN and mirroring is not enabled the usable capacity is around 60-65TB with some spare drives.

They don’t come with the FC switches, but all cables, controller modules are with the units, I can get FC switches if required.

Perfect for test / dev environments, but might be a bit noisy and power hungry for a home NAS :)

It is currently located at the South Island, however can arrange transport nearly anywhere in NZ.

How much does it weigh?

Picture please smile

Freakin' heavy, around 100kg / SAN will upload a few photos on Friday.

A box of beer :-)

Might do the job, depending on how many bottles are in the box and how large they are :D
