@michaelmurphy I have the MDR-10RBT and QC25 and thinking of selling both and getting the QC35. I know the NC is good, as I have the QC25 but I AM concerned about sound quality (I am a bit of a headphone nut) compared to the Sony? I'd accept a small downgrade as I actually don't use the wireless bluetooth that much, but a major downgrade wouldn't be on the cards.

@sbiddle my wife is going to Australia in a fortnight, where did you see them at $379 or know where I can get 15% off?

I dare you to walk into a store with them on display, try them with your own music (pair them up) and try using your MDR-10RBT's afterwards. You will end up buying the QC35's like I did.

Not sure these need aptx for the sound quality. I think the active EQ probably takes care of that. I think the sound is pretty impressive for Bluetooth headphones. I do connect to my TV via a transmitter connected to optical output. Aptx would cut the lag that is there. Although maybe it is the TV because if I connect to my Apple TV there is no lag at all.

Apple don't support aptX so many argue there is no need to support it. AAC audio (which it does use) is vastly superior to the original SBC codec used by Bluetooth.

I'm pretty sure most Android devices now support AAC.

Well if anyone wants to buy my Q25 (under 6 months old from memory) and my un-opened Quiet Comfort 20's (both Apple controls)... let me know so I can upgrade to the Q35's.

Any reason why they wouldn't support it though if it can be done via codec and therefore it's just a firmware upgrade.

Edit - I mean other than the valid reason you have given.

how do they compare to the QC 20s?

I have the QC25 which have been amazing. The noise reduction has been outstanding. I couldn't hear the engline of the 777-200 ER and the battery has exceeded the 20 hours they recommend for noise cancelling. I will never go back to bog standard headphones ever again:-)

Not that I'm an audiophile or want to stall your sale of the QC35's. I will be keen to hear the Sony MDR1000x when they arrive. Some reviews I've read have them slightly better than the 35's
