The cable will work for either to move what makes sense into the space you have in the case elsewhere.

Could you move the m.2 into the 4x slot with a cheap adapter card?

I've decided to go with this option. Thanks Rich!

Not my listing. But may be of interest. Make sure your motherboard supports PCIe bifurcation.

Thanks 🙂 I realized yesterday the SSD blocking the graphics card is my data SSD and when I remove it from that slot the PCIe4 slot will be reactivated. I've ordered a similar but cheaper Ugreen card from PB tech which should arrive today. The kind of card you link to would have been good if I had needed to move both M2 drives.

Yip. Just the ability to put four in there is appealing, for future expansion. But cheaper motherboards don't have bifurcation. Single M.2 PCIe adapters can be had for pretty cheap. Less than $10 last time I looked on Aliexpress.

Anyway sounds like you've managed to solve your issue.

Yeah $16.50 for the Ugreen single option, arriving today, should hopefully solve the problem 🙂
