Sorry but your auction is just lazy and it's no surprise it's not sold.

1) Add some pictures of the laptop itself(ie from google)
2) Add the model number and specifications in the description
3) Drop the price to $925($875 after fees)
4) Provide a better link(like in the OP), the DSE AU url is dead
5) Offer to ship it

Cheers mate, thanks for the feedback.

1: I've never been a fan of "Stock images". Just my personal Opinion. If i'm buying something from Trade Me, I want to see pictures of the actual product.
2: It says the model number in the link, however as you mentioned, the link is dead (No surprise a DickSmith link is dead)
3: I have been dropping the price slowly over the past 2-3 weeks.
4: I will provide a new link now thanks.
5: Offer to Ship it, not sure what you mean? For free?

Not interested in buying your laptop, just giving you a bit of feedback - what's more valuable to you, $800 or a Laptop worth $1200 that you don't need? Better to sell it for a loss and get some utility than keep it and suffer a larger loss, ending up with an outdated and unused laptop.

Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have been dropping the price both here on GZ + Trade Me by $25-$50 every week or so.

A stock image of the model itself is a better representation than a cardboard box. People might want to see the keyboard/trackpad layout etc.
As for shipping it you state pick up only, probably drops your potential buyers by 2/3rds limiting it to just Wellington.

I did have it set to Pick Up only, however two weeks ago I changed the auction and added in a courier option. You must have an old link.

Cheeky (some might say insulting wink) offer - $700 cash, can pick up this weekend.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

I'm not trying to take a dig here, but from what I can tell the only difference between this model and the ab081TX is that it has a 2TB HDD rather than 1TB. Dick Smith still have some stock of the ab081TX in their sale at the moment for $600.

Yes, but if Finch dropped the price down too quickly we wouldn't have one of the more amusing threads on GZ - the experience of watching reality sink in slowly over a matter of weeks! (edit - scratch that: months - original post's from September!)

Curious.
I bought an ASUS laptop with the same spec apart from a 950M in mine.

Its very slugish due to a HDD. Why wasnt this one for you?
Might do the SSD upgrade myself.

You beat me to the punch. I was literally thinking of writing such a reply.

What will we do with ourselves once this is sold? I don't want to contemplate!

Thanks for all the interest shown lol

Hey mate.

I cant find thast model listed on their website so it must be instore only? If so, I'd expect most/all have been sold by now anyway.

I had a quick look and the differences I noticed was 2TB HD and also Full HD screen.

I just went on what it was being retailed for and what previous listings had sold for on Trade Me thats all.

This is what State offered me in the beginning. They actually offered me something of lower quality but got bumped on to this one.

Heh. Maybe if there was some kind of GeekZone "Thread Of The Year" award I could be in the running for it.

Thanks but sorry mate, it's for my 16yo son and his budget doesn't stretch that far.
