Hi,

We're planning a 6 month working holiday later this year, and going to take my HTC TyTN II with me (for GPS).

Can anyone recommend good GPS software, with navigation / routing, searching, etc, that can be used for offline searching (e.g. find a route to a place without any GPRS or 3G data overseas, in case I don't find any cheap prepay SIM deals, or have a data plan).
So this counts out Google Maps, as this uses data.

We're going through the following places (on the way to London), so keen for maps on these:

Thailand: Bangkok, Phuket, Surat Thani
Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur
London

Once in London we'll be travelling around Europe, so keen for Europe maps as well
(e.g. UK, France, Spain, Holland, Iceland, Finland, Germany, Italy, Greece, etc.)

Should I go with TomTom?
Or something like Smart2go?

Any other suggestions?
Don't have to have to pay through the roof!

Thanks

TomTom is good - you should consider CoPilot Live as well.

Most likely May to December, depending on contract work. (might be longer than 6 months)

Why's that?

When I attended the Mobius conference late last year in Amsterdam, everyone there were given a copy of Copilot Live 7 with Europe maps for our Windows Mobile devices.

I used it in trial mode for a week in Europe, but never used the activation code provided because there is no New Zealand maps.

You can have this if you want. It comes with Windows Mobile software on a microSD card (2GB) and th PC software to update the software and maps, There's a card with a serial number you can use.

Send me a PM with your address and I can send this to you.
