Has anybody had any hands on experience with the new GO 930 from TomTom. Do NZ maps support the multiple lane indicators (exit ramps etc)? What is the quality of the BT phone hands free?
I have a 720. Many apsects should be very similar.
Its good at telling me which lane to be in, and is clear about taking exits.
The BT handsfree audio quality is "good" but not "excellent". Maximum volume for handsfree is "average", though I do drive a loud V8, and I have poor hearing - you may find it "good". The option to send call audio through FM works well, although I tend not to use it that much (I don't really know why).
I have a Parrot 3200LS-Color installed, and have not used it since I got the TomTom.
Looks like Multi Lane Images and Lane Guidance do not work for NZ maps... One of the key benefits of the GO 930!! SMS Message announcement does not work for iPhone. Should be grateful TomTom has NZ maps at all... took many years for NZ Maps to be available for other GPS Manufacturers. Having to move from TomTom (used overseas) to an NZ Navman at the start of last year was a major step backwards.
aah but it is such a minor step... and for most who remove the device from dash when leave cars, it becomes part of the process. Theft is on rise for these devices...
Tony, is there a way to get the Phone audio output to transmit over the FM function to the car stereo. It looks like the nav instructions and the music can be directed to Lineout, Bluetooth or FM, but not the phone. If it was a choice of instructions or phone to output I would have selected the phone as a priority. The volume is extremely low as a handsfree unit.
