I am very new to the whole GPS thing. I have got a new job which involves extensive travelling and i bought a used Navman S35 from trade me. The unit has got Australia maps and no New Zealand maps. When i enquired with navman they said the unlocking code was $179 which is way too expensive for me. I have got the dvd and everything. Is there anyway that i can get a unlocking code to unlock the NZ maps. I am even open to a swap of Australia maps which are already unlocked, for NZ maps.

Can someone please help me in this regards?

Check TradeMe, I've seen people selling NZ maps on there before for the Navman range, and going for much less than the RRP.

Be very very careful I would suggest buying maps from anyone other then navman (and even then).

It seems they have the maps locked down tighter then fort nox and my experiance has been that they are VERY unhelpful if you need help.

Personally if it was not made clear that the unit had Aus maps only I would be trying to get your money back.
