What's the screen size on it, 3.5, 4.5?  Just thinking if you wanted to get rid of it for about what you paid for it, like I say, I've been thinking about playing around with one myself.

Going by the ebay link I think it's a 4.3".  If you decide to give up, drop me a PM and we'll talk ;-)

Well i'm not quite sure how toPM you, but yeah, I really can't be bothered with this thing anymore. If you make me an offer which is reasonable I'd be more than happy to consider. However, that is pending a reply from the ebay guy who's selling these units (i've just asked him if he can arrange a working nz map for me at a price)...so if that goes to plan, then I'll prob not sell the unit. But the way things are....it all depends. So lets stay in touch and see what happens eh.

psagar86:
From the ridiculous amount of information spongin informatio about this (seriously, i've being going nuts, and my head's about to explode) I have read that it is possible to install iGo 8 software on this also. However, the only problem for me being, that even if I could somehow manage that, i believe that iGo do not have maps for NZ. So, my next question would be, if u guys still care :) is that is there a way to convert map files from tomtom to iGo by any chance?

The Uniden Maptrax GPS devices run iGo8 - its what I have on my GPS. It just has Uniden branding all over it.

Seriously though, from the links you posted to Ebay your device has a USB connection. Install ActiveSync on your PC and plug it in. You will be able to browse the files on device. There are usually text files that contain path names etc which will show the software its expecting.

Hi tchart,

Yes, I can most definitely run iGo 8 on it. But I thought that iGo has no new zealand maps? Is that not true? Does ur uniden run in NZ?

Cheers

Yip, the Uniden (running iGo) has NZ maps. They much better than the ones I had two or so years ago.

You can buy NZ maps for iGo My Way (iGo 8.0.x) here. They cost 90 euros ($225).

Wow, thanks for that. It's bloody expensive eh. I think i might try 'alternative' means from the internet. If anyone has any ideas to where I can find these, that'd be great! lol. Thanks

Hey Guys,

Just a heads up. I was able to get the GPS system working fine! I'm now running iGo8.0.0.4436 on it and it runs flawlessly. Managed to source NZ maps as well, so that was the turning point!.

Thanks for all your help, it all helped to point me in the right directions.

Cheers
