Thanks, I don't need NZ cos I have a Navman, it's really for short trips overseas, pretty expensive if I need to buy diff versions for diff countries but I do recall they have 7 days plans if that hasn't changed.

Yeah I just checked on the phone, not it's 30 days. The bummer is that every year you need to keep feeding it despite how small the fee might be.

I have a Garmin and the free NZ map is exceptional, the same cannot be said for other countries. From the ones I have sourced, you would be lucky if the main streets / tourist attractions are routable that is you can select go to. Most of them are not, it's just a walking map that you figure your own way there, plus they only have the main streets. Like this Hong Kong map didn't even have the glamorous Peninsular Hotel or the Victoria Peak nor any main streets that you can run a search and press go to.
