I'm running a Motorola Milestone. Have had issues connecting to the network in 3G so am using 2G. I can make and receive calls. But cannot do the same with text messages. Ive added +64220227672 but still having no luck. Any suggestions?

Ah, Motorola Androids. Yes, they make a real hash of it - they tend to send a whacky DCS; 27, from memory. PM your number to me. I *might* be able to help.

The system is showing you successfully sent 82 text messages in the last week, and received 103, as late as yesterday. If it seems like it's not working then I think there must be something up with your handset.

Try clearing data from your messaging app as below -

Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> scroll down to Messaging > and press 'Clear data'

This won't delete your SMS, just the data that may be clogging your phone.

If that doesn't work the next thing to try is deleting all your SMS and uninstalling any apps loaded since the problem started, in case there's a corrupted one in there.

Final thing if it's still an issue is factory reset, but save all your data, pictures, music etc on your phone to the SD card first.

I am using Motorola defy
I sent a txt to a friend last Saturday, but never received any replies from her.
I messaged her again like 2 days later, she said she replied on Sunday morning.
Both of us are on 2degrees.
But I never received her message.
I think I had my phone on Airplane mode for a couple of hours during Sunday morning.
So is it airplane mode that stopped me from getting the txt? Or is it something else?

Thanks

'Airplane mode' means: all radios turned OFF.

I thought normally when you turn the phone off, if you miss a msg then the msg will be delivered when the phone is turned back on.

So is it not the same then?

When I turned the Airplane mode off, the msg won't be redelivered?

Thanks

It should have been; perhaps it was. The OP received 103 messages but somehow none of them appeared on his handset.
