Often we see posts or threads complaining when things go wrong, but seldom do we see posts complementing a good service.

This is such a post commenting on a good service.

I just want to thank Ben & Slingshot on a great start to the service, prompt support on the phone and assistance to schedule a tech to fix a line fault.

The speed is great (on unlimited plan) and the communication has been fantastic, keeping us informed during the whole install and support for the line fault.

Would have to be the most seamless sign up yet, (not including the street line fault, which is of course outside of the ISPs control).

Thanks again Ben & Slingshot.

Good to read. We are with SS here and to be honest, can't fault them.

Good to see positive feedback. It always perplexes me as to how line faults in the street or ETP seem to surface during a transition.

...Excluding botched installs at the exchange or cabinet of course.

Maybe they are connected to a different pair that was unused for a period of time, I don't know either though to be honest. It does seem to happen often though.

Previous tenant did not ever use the phone line.
It possibly had not been used in several years, so no one knew it was broken. Possibly damaged in the quakes.

Chorus technician also terminated the wrong pair. So there was both a line fault and a misconfiguration.

All good now. SNR down is 14 or something, 20 db up.
Attentuation is 1db down and 2 db up.

Also good to see Slingshot ring up as well as email to follow up and ensure that everything is working fine now.

It's because the pair allocation and line card system is so screwed up now I am surprised any 'intact' connections work. The amount of working pairs that get allocated to new connections is just ridiculous. They even seem to be able to allocate working EN's.
Worst bit is all the tracings for UFB connections are going in to this god forsaken system too. I would of thought it would have been an ideal time to roll out an up to date CMS system.

I've also heard that the EN's are sometimes labelled incorrectly leading the technician to think the connection is jumpered correctly when it is not.
