I have been with Flip for nearly a year and in the past two weeks I've run into a problem; My Ventrilo packets have been getting throttled to the point where I cannot connect to any servers, local and international.

At first, I thought It was my modem, so I pulled out and installed my back up one. I then thought it was my PC then found none of the hardware in the household could connect to a Ventrilo server. Clients, even after fully uninstalling and deleting all local data then installing again, still no connection. In fact, I followed every single troubleshoot guide that there is on the internet.

I set my Ventrilo to "auto reconnect 9999999" times with a five second delay between each reconnect and it seems it connects fine around 9am, NZ time, then doesn't like to connect past 4pm. Which is a shame since between 4pm and 9am is when I need it to bloody well work.

The funny thing is, tracert's and ping -n's come back flawless.

I need to know, are the VoIP packet blocks or throttles?

Sorry to hear you're having issues.

We don't block any VoIP technologies as far as I'm aware.

Best thing to do is contact our technical team if you haven't already. I see you've also posted in the Flip forums? Worth calling us to run through in detail.

I've contacted technical support with no avail. I'm still wondering if ports are being blocked since the Ventrilo client requires that UDP ports 5000 and 6100 are open for Ventrilo to use.

Are other voice apps affected eg: skype, steam's voice chat, teamspeak, mumble or just vent?

Skype and TeamSpeak3 are fine. It's my connection with any Ventrilo* server and my friend Mitch, who is also with Flip but lives in Hamilton, gets the same problem around 4 - 5pm everyday, since Tuesday last week.
