Hi,

About 2 weeks ago I switched over to Orcon Geinus with VOIP, but today I have just realized that our POTS line is still active. Is this purposeful or not?

Thanks

Do you still have a normal DialTone if you plug a phone in the jackpoint with your xDSL connection? if so your phone line is still active - Talk to your provider

or

Do you have a tone that sort of sounds like you would hear when you ring someone ? If so you have what is called NU-Tone and the line is still live but deactivated (this is normal) - With a line with NU-Tone there is no 'phone number' attached but you can still dial 111 and nothing else (pls dont try it to see if it works unless its an emergency)

When you dial your home number does the phone attached to your Genius ring?

If so all good. You can pm me your account number and I can get our provisioning team to double check the pots is deactivated, depending on your previous provider they may not have actioned the relinquishment on the pots service yet.

It may depend what you switched to Genius from. What company was the line previously connected with - have you or did you need to cancel this connection?
