Question: Im upgrading to VDSL, and the request has been put through. am I able to back up my current ADSL router settings and import the settings to the VDSL modem when I get it?

no. different routers.

if im not mistaken, it comes preconfigured anyway.

No sorry, the new Genius White will set itself up for the internet and voip connection when connected for the first time but you will need to recreate your admin password/WiFi and any other specific settings you have.

Sorry but they are different manufacturers so the settings file you can backup from the Black isn't compatible with the White.
