Hi there
I am having weird issues sending SMS. Sending sms messages using 3rd party apps (hang outs, google messenger etc.,) failing to send with message "unable to send message, error 96" !! interestingly stock message app works fine!

i checked SMSC number (*#*#4636#*#*) and its already as per 2degrees web page but still fails to send!

any advice ? Thank you very much.

BTW i use LG G2 with stock lg software (android 4.4.2)

Did it come up asking you to set them as your default sms app?

Hi, are you able to use data ok?

Make sure Mobile data and Data roaming settings are turned on and you have enough data on your account to use this service (dial *100*1# to check your balances).

Please pm your number, your location and your device make/model if it's still an issue.

Thanks
^POB

Thanks for the reply. Yes data works fine and no issues there. Its only issue with SMS with non-stock messaging apps.
BTW i received data settings using 2degrees website and roaming turned on. I thought data has no effect on SMS ?

EDIT: I am on $19 combo so definitely not an issue with credit.

Hang outs, Google messenger and other messaging apps like Viber and Whatsapp rely on data rather than SMS.  SMS may be used to initiate the service however the conversation will be carried over data or Wi-Fi.
