I figured that with the three carriers having fairly similar plans, it might be time for 2Degrees to try and further differentiate themselves again.
Apparently that's going to happen tomorrow (16 Feb). I'm told by a senior staff member via Twitter that there'll be a new simplified plan line-up, "huge data options", and the ability to get a new phone every year.
I'm looking forward to it as the market has been a bit quiet of late.
In my experience, big changes like this one appears to be often leave some people feeling like they're worse off, so it'll be interesting to see what's on offer, and whether existing plans are grandfathered.
Insufficient data on NZ mobile carriers has always been a criticism here, so if they really are being bold in this area, it could make a big difference, particularly if that data continues to carry over and can continue to be shared across devices.
