Do you want it to use the fritzbox as dect base station, or happy just to plug it into one of the FON ports?

I have the cheapest Panasonic, works fine. I have the phone pair directly with the Fritz. Call quality is good enough.

Directly paired as in the panasonic base station isn't used at all? (other than for charging)  - does caller ID work on the handset?

Sounds like the OP wants one that works over DECT though, not plugged into the Fon port. I tried 2 cheap Panasonics and while both worked over dect I couldn't get caller id working fully on either, so I ended up plugging into fon port.

not sure why you need DECT though, i just use the fon app on all the mobiles and tablets in the house and use them as land lines .

Same here. Phone works over DECT, all display information such as caller ID does not. We have some older version of a panasonic twin pack with answermachine

my dect (gap) panasonic doesn't work well with the fritzbox dect basestation.

It just disconnects sometimes.....the phone is about 2 meters from the fritzbox (wall in between) so I don't think it is a range thing.

Well, I have 2 panasonics, one plugged into the fon port and one registered with the fritzbox dect, and I have a slightly odd issue on the fon port one where my internet connection gets patchy (possibly dns starts misbehaving - though I've never been able to track down exactly what the issue is) when using it.  I've google plenty and asked on here but never been able to track down the issue. When using the handset that's registered via dect, I don't get caller id, but I also don't have the internet issues...     so I guess neither are perfect, lol.

EDIT:  Ah, thanks timmay - yeah that linked thread has plenty of info on my trials and tribulations with the fritzbox and panasonic.   Just thought I'd also mentioned that the TG1611 also has a slightly annoying trait when registered with the fritzbox as dect base station in that when you pick it up to make a call it gets no dial tone and you can't hear the phone ringing at the other end - it's slightly disconcerting as after a long period of silence you just suddenly hear the person at the other end pick up and say "hello"

TBH, if you want something that works perfectly with the fritzbox, I suspect the fritzfon might be you best bet. I think there are a few other handsets people on here recommend but none really in the price range of the cheap panasonics
