Access to most sites intermittent or non existent. Google and Gmail came up for a while even though other sites like trademe still could not be accessed.

I can access your network status page ( and your website) from our snap connection - but not our spark connection

Now everything is back down 90%+ packet loss

Everything is working fine here (Dunedin + Fiber)

Location and broadband technology would help...

We've had intermittent connectivity issues since 11:18am.  I hear that Snap engineers are working furiously to resolve the issue, but no ETA or known cause as yet.

Hey there,

Unfortunately we have been having some issues this morning and our Engineering team are currently hard at work identifying and isolating the problems.

We hope to have things stable again soon, in the meantime we are posting updates via social media and our website.

Cheers

At the moment things seem ok - slightly slow/intermittent at times

Hey everyone,

Engineering has identified and isolated the root cause of the issue. We will continue to monitor and advise if further issues, however at this stage we should be back to normal.

We will advise here and on Twitter/Facebook and our website if anything further changes

Thanks

Ralph ^JOB

Surprised this didn't get more press, sounds like it took out internet for University of Canterbury and I can only imagine some other large sites.
Our diverse dedicated fiber didn't help in this case but thankfully the Snap SIP network seemed to be unaffected and worked well throughout.

for someone their size with their much dependence on internet they really should have more than one provider.

diverse dedicated fibre to another provider?
