Issues with DECT handsets and Fritxbox..I just installed Fritxbox and bought Panansonic KG T2723 Dect 6 phones.They register and thats about it.Using them wirelessly and Fritz as a base station. Once registered the phones lose half their menu ...No caller ID,.no date and time and no message recorder (apart from the fritxbox one).Took it back to shop they gave me exchange and next set did the same.Rang 2D several times and they couldnt help.
Once I deregistered off Fritzbox and used the Panasonic as the base station everything worked fine but of course I have no landline anymore as the number is ported to Fritxbox so wont work
Would anyone know if they are compatible or what phones are compatible.?
Any idea what is fully compatible with the Fritxbox
Desperate for answers.

Is DECT 6 supported? I don't know which Fritzbox you have, but http://en.avm.de/nc/service/fritzbox/fritzbox-7390/knowledge-base/publication/show/65_Cannot-register-a-cordless-telephone/ states that "The telephone must support the DECT-GAP profile" while https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Enhanced_Cordless_Telecommunications#DECT_6.0 states that "DECT 6.0 products do not support "GAP"".

Also, are you sure that that model number is correct? When I search for "KG T2723 DECT", I mainly get Ukrainian and Japanese results.

What you experienced is normal with Panasonic phone's and the Fritzbox I think. I use a Fritz cordless phone which has more functionality than the Panasonic. However I also plug the Panasonic into the back of the Fritzbox, using the Panasonic Dect base and get all the Panasonic functionality. Last but not least I use the Fritz Fon app on my Android mobile as another handset option.

AFAIK, people have had mixed success using Panasonic phones with the DECT function of the Fritzbox. If you are looking for something that is fully compatible with the Fritzbox, then the Fritzfon is your best bet - I don't know whether you can get these in NZ though. I understand that the Siemens Gigaset models seem to work well too.

However, your message doesn't make it clear whether you have tried plugging the Panasonic base station into the 'fon' port in your Fritzbox. You can do this with any analogue phone - all you'll need is an RJ11 to RJ11 cable to replace the RJ11 to BT plug cable that came with your Pana phone. I can't see much of a down side to doing this as the Panasonic phones won't be able to access the more advanced features available in the Fritzbox anyway. Your range will probably be better, and you'll be able to access the Panasonic answerphone too.

Sorry yes Panasonic KX-TG2723 and Fritxbox 7490
Tried FON RJ11 jack back of Friz and still no good.
Phone supports Caller ID ,activated in 2D but doesnt show on Panasonic.
Even though 2D helpdesk try to be helpful they need to tell customers what phones are compatible as only says DECT phones.
Went out and bought some as my old chordless are not DECT ...so that was a waste of money it seems.
So seems only FRitx phone the only one compatible?

Just found this in Wikipedia.
So I presume this sums it up cant use DECT 6.0 on Fritzbox????

DECT 6.0 products do not support "GAP", therefore phones of differing brands are not guaranteed to work together. E.g. A GE 28105EE1 DECT 6.0 headset will not receive calls if registered to a Uniden base unit.

Your best bet is to plug the panasonic base station into the FON port, then in the fritzbox I think you go into "Telephony -> Telephony devices" and may need to set it up on that FON port. And re-register the handset with the panasonic base station instead of fritzbox. I've got one of my panasonics running like that and it works fine, including caller ID.

The fritzbox happens to support DECT GAP compliant devices, but I don't think snap\2degrees actively markets that capability, so I don't think they "need" to tell customers anything TBH. They offer (used to, not sure they still do?) the fritzfon, so you have that option, otherwise you'll need to do your own research and troubleshooting. ISPs can't support all possible BYO devices...
