Hi folks,

I am currently running a FitzBox 7340.

There have been no firmware (or security) updates to this router since 2014.

I use a seperate internal switch for lan traffic, and a seperate wifi router.

I do not use voip, only POTS.

Would there be any advantage to updating to another router?

Do routers that are more up to date give better vadsl speeds?

Kind reagrds,
Stuart.

Personally I'd invest that money in a better router - depending on your budget Asus have some pretty good VDSL routers if you're not using VoIP. If you're wanting to use VoIP at any stage with 2D you're going to need the Fritz!.

The newer Fritz! routers that 2D are supplying have Wireless AC and work pretty well as a general purpose router.

If it does what you need, I'd keep it. Just make sure the security is set up as it should be, and that devices behind it are secured as much as is practical.
