This has been an ongoing issue for a couple months and 2d are proving pretty useless at fixing it. I have a 1000/500 plan. For a couple of weeks the speeds were great and consistent. Then of all a sudden they decide to drop and cap out at 100/100.

Every time I call 2d it's the same, change cables, try a different port, reset blah blah blah. I do all of that, I even buy a new router. Same story, speeds are great for a couple of weeks and then they go to rubbish again. Given that I get the speeds fine for a couple weeks it would lead me to think that the wiring in the house and ports and router aren't the issue.

Can someone more tech savvy advise if it might be an exchange issue?

What router are you using - can you check what speed the WAN port is connecting to the ONT at? What colour LEDs on the ONT?

What is it that increases the throughput again?

Checking the WAN speed of the link between the ONT and router and PC and router is the first basic step you need to check. Are both connected at Gigabit?

What is it that increases the throughput again?

Using an ASUS RT-AC3200. Pretty sure it was all set up with GB port connection, how would I check? Green on the ONT.

A random unplug and replug sometimes does it, otherwise it picks up randomly.

Check what colour the LAN 1 LED is on the ONT.

Orange = 1000mbit

Green = 100 mbit

If it is green, 2d will need to put a request through to Chorus to the the port speed changed..

This recently happened to me...

Says 1Gbps

OK, so this means the problem is between your ONT and your router.

Check the following:

-Router is not randomly switching its WAN port to 100Mbps (check settings/ swap router)

-Cable is not dodgy (make sure to use a name brand cable and not a 2 dollar shop one)

-ONT is not faulty (get 2d to log a fault for you once you confirmed the above.)
