Hi,
For a number of years we had Snap/2Degrees ADSL, and separately a Slingshot VoIP account. We use a standard phone, connected into an ATA port on the rear of our Vodafone router, which is configured with all the Slingshot SIP settings/servers/ports/etc.
Recently we switched ISP's to Flip. The actual changeover experience was fairly trouble-free and punctual, and our Internet overall is working fine.
However since the day of the switch we have had no VoIP line.
I have had numerous tech support calls between Slingshot and Flip (who I am led to believe are even owned by the same company) and have restarted routers, checked all the Slingshot settings multiple times. The reality is that Slingshot ceased to see any data/login attempts/etc from us on the day of the switchover.
I am convinced that Flip probably blocks Port 5060, but the technical support team at Flip has been completely unhelpful (useless!) claiming that the issue is with my VoIP provider and that I should talk to them. However they don't have any knowledge of whether or not Port 5060 is in fact blocked or open! There doesn't seem to be a huge depth of knowledge there, and I have spoken to the same people more than once so I imagine the team is small.
I am at my wits' end and my blood pressure is rising.
Do I have any further options or is there any further diagnostics I can do before I give up on Flip and go back to 2Degrees?
Thanks,
Anton
