My 7490 is currently running 6.30. The 2Degrees rep said I was supposed to update manually. She said her own modem at home was running 6.5x so she would have to update her own modem manually.

I seem to remember in the early days of Snap that we weren't meant to update to the latest and greatest.

Was I wrong or have things changed.

I've been with 2D for about a year now. Two Fritz!Box updates since then & I had to always manually upgrade.

Thanks for that. Some recent responses from 2D in this forum mention "monitored devices" and "system wide rollouts", perhaps that is only business customers.

Hey guys,

At this point in time we are only pushing out security releases rather than feature releases, however we are currently in the planning phase for pushing out the latest version (06.8x) as there are a number of new features and enhancements that we think will benefit tour customers.

We are pretty ingrained in to AVM's firmware testing program now, so you can be assured that 2degrees are happy with a new firmware when it gets released by AVM, and you are more than welcome to update manually if you wish.

Thanks,

Ralph ^JOB

Thanks for this thread! Have noticed 6.80 released (7490). Looking forward to testing the wifi changes at home (2.4 / 5Ghz switching).

Quick observations:

  • Fixed the graphs for VDSL users (upload spectrum shows up again!)
  • Syncing faster for me (1mb increase up and down)
  • Stats page can be switched between 24hr and 1week (can see those sneaky resyncs!)
  • Per device UPnP settings

Oh and to contribute to the thread, I've always done my upgrades manually.
