There are 2 major buildings at Auckland Central so Telecom would be planning all the issues relating to how the 2 buildings can connect broadband most efficiently. If they open both buildings to LLU then Orcon might wait for the second building on some lines. They might even install their own street cabinets!!

Time to find a new industry!

airedale street and mayoral drive right?
so Orcon would unbundle one and install a roadside cabinet for the other?

I've just tried signing up over the phone and have been told that my number does not come up on thier system.  I'm in Freemans Bay (Victoria St West) and am pretty sure we hang off the Mayroal Drive exchange.  Pretty dissapointed Frown.

I live in a block of tonwhouses/apartments and was told by the service rep on the phone that approx 10% of these types of dwellings in the CBD cannot be provisioned with this service.  I was told that they are still "progressively rolling out" the service in my area and that I should maybe try again in a few days...

How do I find out definitively whether my phone line can be provisioned?  I'd seriously consider moving if it is not available on my current line...

Hi guys,

The number checker on the website had a couple of bugs yesterday that meant that some people were getting incorrectly rejected, so I would suggest that you try again today if you haven't already.

I've tried the online form again and this time I get the following:

Uh-oh!
It appears you have entered an invalid phone number, Please double check that you have entered a correct NZ Landline Number
If you are still receiving this error, Please enter your details below and we will investigate and get back to you

I have filled out the subsequent form.  I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens...

I signed up yesterday and got an order reference ID...just spoke to Fred from Provisioning and he said there could be a delay of up to a week while Orcon and Telecom work through a new system for order automation or something....
*he said all pending orders are frozen atm*

I called again but was told that they could not find my number on the system.  As I have recently moved house (in the last 3 weeks) I was told that it could take a while for my number to show up in the system.  I am already signed up with Orcon and have already been provisioned with ADSL service so I find this rather odd.  Infact my ADSL connection with Orcon was up and running after two days of moving in to the new place!  That was pretty impressive as I had only given 1 days notice prior to moving.

Not intent on just waiting this out, I called Telecom provisioning to see if there were any extenuating circumstances or conditions on my line/number/account that would prevent me from being able to sign up on Orcon's new plans.  They told me that as far as they can see there was nothing wrong with my line and there should be no reason why my number would not show up on Orcon's provisioning systems.

I've since found the address lookup link and have managed to sign up online:

http://www.orcon.net.nz/address_locator/

I now have a Reference ID for my order! We'll see what happens with this...

I received an email from Orcon on 5th of May advising that my order has been accepted and my service request is being processed.

It's been over three weeks now and I'm still waiting.
