I had a business account with 2degrees. I elected to pay it by credit card so I could collect the rewards but recently I became aware they were going to add 1.75% on top which would have made it no longer worth it. Fine, I was happy to go back to direct credit as I had been using before. I made contact with them and was told I could only elect direct debit and something about a credit check categorising the account as CC/DD only. Problem is, there is nothing untoward on a credit check for me or my company, at the time the account was setup it was on any payment type basis and our subsequent payment record is excellent. Either 2degrees is 'trying it on' in the hope I will agree or their upgrade has gone horribly wrong and mis-designated clients credit standing.

After having an extended read through their Facebook page and it looking increasingly like the really crappy duopoly providers in the 3rd world country I am presently situated in and having my posts to them ignored, I decided it was time to say bye and I would go over to the dark side (Spark).

Spark wasted no time in processing the transfer and I would have to say it was very easy to do entirely through their online chat function. As an additional benefit my Mother (who is using my cell) reports better signal strength using them now in our rural location.

All I need to do now is contact 2degrees and wrap things up, but how?

No doubt a phone number on the monthly invoice you get?

Just ask them you want to pay monthly and go through the credit approval process again.

I wouldnt trust comments on a facebook page... mostly people ranting.

Don't you think the fact I am overseas has something to do with me not calling them?

Given they have a contact us form and a international number
there is nothing stopping you.

They are not listening to the rabble, opps I mean customers, and I am not paying to call New Zealand and wait on hold.

You can setup a direct debit on the website once you login if you have the right access on the account. Have you tried that? Once you setup the direct debit just delete the cards from the account on the same page and you’re done.

Again you miss the fact they have a contact us form

But if you want it sorted then you may just need to suck it up and pay for the call.

One would think you wouldn't be on hold long via the international number

It would be a lot better if certain posters would read the original post first.

I don't see where in your original post you say you didn't want to call them. You also have options like Skype or a VOIP provider that won't cost much money, this seems like just a rant post.

I get that you're frustrated but the attitude you've displayed here doesn't help you.

I didn't see that information anywhere in your original post (which I did read).

I was hoping someone from 2degrees may see this thread and offer me a direct contact, but it appears not. I will ask my Mother to phone them yet again and wait on hold for far too long.

So why am I not phoning them?

Calls from here are expensive - a half hour call to New Zealand will cost several dollars. Then the local carrier will over charge me (in the same way they mass steal from the locals) and I have to phone them up and try and get a refund = more time wasted.

To even make the call I will need to load the credit onto my cellphone which I will not do for very good reasons. If I only have a small value of credit on there, that's all they can plunder.

There is good reasons I use email and facebook as anyone who has traveled in places like this will understand.

So you want to pay your account manually each month right? From your bank to theirs? Easy:

1. Leave your setup as it is or switch it to a direct debit online.

2. Make manual payments for to their account each month before the due date and allow enough time for the payment to process.

If you pay the bill before the due date they aren't going to take the payment again, just allow enough time for the bank transfer to complete. It isn't hard and you don't need to call anyone.
If you have a CC/DD requirement then there is a reason for it but it isn't a big deal just find another way around it like the above.

It has already been noted in several posts, but they have a contact page on their website here https://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/contact-us/

The options available from that page seem to be:

1) By phone. Four separate numbers available depending for domestic, international, from mobile etc.

2) Facebook

3) Twitter

4) Web form

5) Instragram

6) Linkedin

7) Postal address

You don't say which third world country you are currently in, but you've obviously got internet access, so at least five of those are available. As an eighth option, perhaps a PM to one of the 2D reps that visit GZ from time to time, but as this isn't an official support forum for them, it's probably less reliable.

Use the contact form on there website and someone will email you back

Remember this forum is not an official support channel so use one of the ones mentioned in the post above.

Might pay to read what others have written before you go off at others for not reading your posts.
