I was looking at pricing again recently and was happy to find 950/500 plans have come down on several ISPs including My Republic so you can get $120 with voice and perhaps needing 12 month contract and $130 without a contract. I thought MyRepublic was in this list but it seems they aren't really. Since they use CG-NAT, I get a static IP (well I'd be find with a dynamic one not behind CG-NAT but few ISPs seem to offer this any more if they use CG-NAT). I'm currently on a grandfathered SOHO plan so get the static IP included.
But it looks like they're now charging $10/month for a static IP on the Pure plans? Well I don't see it as an option when signing up but the T&C say this https://myrepublic.net/nz/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/MyRepublic-Static-IP-Critical-Information-Summary.pdf Or maybe they don't offer it separately any more, instead you can just sign up for the Gamer plan (which is $10 more). Their information summary about the static IP confusingly says "MyRepublic Gamer can be purchased as an addon to the above residential broadband products, or as part of a bundle", although I wonder if that just means whoever was witing the informational indicates reused the document for the Gamer Summary and forgot to update that part.
In any case the new price really makes MyRepublic a lot less attractive IMO considering they do use CG-NAT.
Just to make sure I wasn't confused I checked and found people talking about the static IP being a one off $20 charge last year and before.
