So we got our fibre changed over to gigabyte yesterday/today, after hooking up the new fritzbox they sent out, speedtests and real world downloads will not go above 130Mbps download and 190upload.

I have just rang and basically hung up on the phone support after he told me my plan is still 100/20...(not sure how that works since I can now see 150Mbps+ upload....) and told me to wait so I am trying here in the meantime since support was zero help at all and just asked if I had a gigabyte ethernet after I explained I did and had tried wired/wireless.

I have tried small cable connection to the ONT then small cable to a laptop from the router, 5ghz wireless (that is showing in fritzbox as being connected at 780/780) both return a max download speed of 130Mbps and as expected the upload fluctuates from about 150-190Mbps.

Rate limiting is set to 999999 (or how ever many 9's) I am running the fritzbox without changing any settings minus setting up the wireless.

I am gonna be diplomatic and say that my computer isn't able to handle 1gb/s (not true but lets say it for argument sake) but it can definitely handle 200 at least since we have been on that plan before ;)

I have to head off to night shift soon but would love any input with any advice.

Just to add, not on the black ONT/cables used for testing are brand new.

Edit: Rang helpdesk again got a wonderful lady who was actually helpful and said (her words here roughly) Chorus upgrade was done but orcons system has yet to be done which might explain why I am seeing slightly faster speeds but not full gig speeds and she has escalated it to the right people to change their side of things, so hopefully something will come of that.

Hi there,

If your plan isn't configured correctly then it's entirely possible this is what is causing the problem. PM me with your account details and I'll double check what the team have advised you.

Cheers,

Cam
