So what do you think of the new 2degrees Share plans? Up to 3 connections and cheaper it gets

It looks like the original plans just re-packaged

e.g 10gig plan $55, then add on sharers for $25 each, base plan +2 shares = $105

They are advertising a pool of 3 for $35 each which is $105.

It's totally this.

I'm on the $70 and had one other person on family share and it was $95

Looking at the plan now and it's still $95. They have just changed it so it looks cheaper.

The issue i have with their system and sharing is that you can't split the data or even look up the data usage per number/sim until after billing and by that time it could be to late.

I may be wrong but I believe the difference is that each of the sharers are now on postpaid so you can also use chargeable services (eg. roaming) and get billed in arrears.

Previous I remember the secondary connections having to be on prepay (so you have to maintain top ups separately) and then they are added as $25 sharers by the postpaid sharing connection (hope that makes sense).

This new ways just seems a little easy to maintain plus both connections have all the advantages of postpaid billing / credit line.

EDIT: I'm referring to the $25 unlimited calls / sms sharing add-on. Shared data has always been free to setup to share your postpaid data with anyone else (up to 5 people) on 2degrees.

Not sure what the original offer was, but I read the current offer as free to share date, $25/mth to share texts/mins/calling.

No restrictions on pre- or post- paid. Free sharing of data could suit some - assuming their kids don't use 10G in one day :) !!!

Don't get me wrong i love shared data. My plan lets me share it with my ipad and windows tablet which both have 4g without it costing more. I can't get that with spark or vodafone and is one of the only reasons i stay with 2degrees.

I just wish they would also support esim on the new iphones. One of the reasons i stay with android is dual sim.

Sounds like a lovley idea. Only reason why I'm not keen to take this up is I don't want both my and my SO on the same network. If we break down somewhere it's likely that at least one of us will have service (and the SO is with Skinny so more likely he'll have service too!). Also the occasional network meltdowns mean it's worth being with separate networks. Can see the appeal though for families with kids where you can spread the risk.

It works both ways now. There are places with no Spark coverage, But which do have 2degrees coverage available.

My parents uses Shared Data for free. That's good when they can be on casual prepay or one of the cheap prepay plans.

For Family Share (also sharing minutes and text); IMO it's really only for relatively high users.

I had to double check the wording. It is $25 per person. Which makes it somewhat expensive. Vodafone is $20 per person? Spark is $30?
Yeah .. unless all the members make a fair amount of calls. Cos they could just share data for free without the $25.

To some respect your right, it can be cheaper to be on seperate plans.

Personally the way i use them is, I've got a nice hefty plan... i can often use only a few GB but some months blow out heavy.

My partner normally uses 1-2GB some months also a little heavy. Those months really bothered me with her on a 2GB plan, tracking would be impossible. broken communication etc.

Lastly, i've got my hotspot. Which i only use in situations that i'm on the road and need a little extra 'gain' so some months it gets maybe 100mb while others serveral gb.

Obviously i could switch sims, but sharing just... makes it easy and simple.

It's convent, and that there is the gotcha.

There are very few share plans out there that dollar for dollar are cheaper(especially at the lower end) until you hit massive corporate plans
