Hi

Do 2Degrees use Chorus to install in Manukau, if so, can a new fibre & ONT installation be done in one visit like Spark say they can do or must I wait for 3 separate visits taking up to a month?

I have rung 2Degrees to be told it's up to 30 days but I don't see why it should take that long!

I am moving into a house in 4 weeks that has fibre in the street but copper overhead to the house, nothing shared with any neighbour

Has anyone had it all done in one visit?

Thanks

30 days is nothing for a complete fibre install, I know of some that have taken many many months

Yes Chorus is the UFB network for Auckland and that includes South Auckland, All the information you require is on the Chorus Website

And shouldn't be any difference in speed of installation between 2Degrees and Spark, since Chorus are doing it regardless of ISP.

I had a 2D fibre install done a few months back, on the Shore. Was less than a week for Chorus to come onsite. They did the install same day, and only took a few hours. I was really impressed with it..

If the address is flagged as fibre in a day, then it will be only a single appointment (this is a type of install chorus put on it). You may find the 2d rep was indicating what generally happens or putting the worst forward?

I highly doubt 2d are doing anything specific in their installations that requires a more complex install than spark.

in 95% of cases, you should have 1-2 appointments.

1 in the case of just an install or combined scope + Install

2 in the case that a scope and separate install is needed (often the case with a MDU etc)

Ah, sounds reassuring :)

Thanks for that

And the chorus website confirms single dwelling units can usually be installed in a day too

Yeah, Likely find it's just confusion and playing it safe :)

I've done a ton of work on Spark's systems around how this is shown, so It's refined to be as can be in the current iterations..
