The other day I went out to play some Pokemon go with my daughter, she has a old phone of mine that isn't on a network, its just for the wifi at home.

Long story short, We only went out to play for an hour, the tethering worked, but only after I had activated my free hour.

So does it only work when you are on an unlimited plan? Or could it also be that I have yet to swap to the new prepay plan, im still on the $29, 2.5gb Plan.

Cheers, Hope Everyone is having a good day :)

I don't think that hotspotting is available when using data clock it'll use your data and not the free data.

Hotspotting should work with your data

I have used PHS when using data clock no issues, I don't think it used the data included in my plan and used the 1 hour of free data

@SaltyNZ can you confirm?

There are no restrictions with Tethering on the 2degrees network, You do not need to be on an unlimited plan

There are no restrictions on hotspotting on 2degrees, neither with Data Clock nor the unlimited plans.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

Yeah I've been using it on free hour of data.  I do have issues the next day if I dont reboot my phone though which is annoying.
