Next week my broadband+landline (fibre) will be transferred from Vodafone to 2Degrees. I would be grateful for comments about how to connect the landline to the Fritzbox 7560.

Presently I have some Panasonic handsets which are connected wirelessly to the Panasonic base station (TG2723NZB), which is connected to the Ultrahub (RJ11).

Can I just connect the cable from the Panasonic base station into the Fritzbox FON1 port and everything will work as before?

Should I expect problems with CallerID? Troubleshooting?

I understand that the Fritzbox can operate as a base station, but would prefer not to have to spend time on setting this up right now.

Plug it into the Telephone port on the Fritzbox if you are getting 2degrees home line service

if they are dect phones then it should be easy to connect them to the fritzbox , just make sure dect is enabled

  1. Set your telephone to registration mode. The procedure depends on the telephone you are using. Refer to the manufacturer of the device for information on how to set it up, for example consult the manual.
  2. Push the "DECT" button on your FRITZ!Box. Hold down the button for at least 6 seconds until the "DECT" or "Info" LED on the FRITZ!Box starts to flash. The FRITZ!Box is in registration mode as long as the LED flashes.
  3. If you are asked to do so, enter the FRITZ!Box's four-digit PIN on the telephone and confirm it with "OK". which is 0000.

I have an ancient FritzBox 7390, and all I needed to do was plug our Panasonic phone into its FON1 port with a BT converter.  Then I changed that to having the FON1 port connected to the BT phone socket next to the router, so that the entire house wiring was connected, and the Panasonic worked connected to the kitchen BT socket.  That required a BT converter cable.  I have an old Telecom non-wireless phone plugged into the FON2 port and that works just fine also - it did require a BT converter for its cable also.

There is also a Fritz Fon app for Android (and presumably for Apple as well) that connects via the network when the mobile is on the home WiFi.  Each phone or app acts like a different extension on a PABX and they can call each other, but they all ring (with the default FritzBox options) for incoming calls.  There can be as many calls in progress as you have phones or apps, and any not in use will ring for incoming calls.

I have also used the freeware 3CX softphone app on Windows 10 on my laptop when away on holiday - I use OpenVPN to connect to my home network and the 3CX app connects to the FritzBox via VPN.  I presume that other phone apps would work too if you fed them the right setup.
