Anybody know what the latest plans are for this? When the network was launched their were all sorts of claims about extensive coverage being in all the major cities but in the past year absolutely nothing has happened.

In todays Dominion Post Orcon are talking about a launch date of their ULL network in Wellington later this month and also talk about "blanket WiFi coverage in the City centre".

If there are plans to still extend coverage significantly why has progress been so slow?

Ask them.
I'm glad to hear they'll be releasing adsl2+ soon. Might try them when I move up there for uni.

Indeed, I'd be very interested also in the answer to this.  I work in town and have to catch a bus home, so I like to pop out the iPod touch and catch up on email and news and what not while waiting, and I find that on K road in Auckland, the Kordia WiFi is almost unusable it drops out so often.
