I requested a transfer from Skinny Broadband to 2 Degrees broadband on 11 March. Multiple phonecalls later nothing has happened. They keep telling me that Enable are rejecting the transfer request because of incorrect details but I have verified everything is correct with Skinny. Anybody else had similar issues? Every time I call for an update I have to wait 2 hours on the phone...

Linux: GSP should be talking to the LSP

GSP tells LFC details about LSP, LFC verifies those details and performs the churn.
If details provided to LFC are wrong then LFC will reject the churn

Thing causes issues is the details Enable has on file for the LSP in this case could be spark/skinny/tventures, while all new connections are now under the Spark older connections could be under any of the other names in the LFC records

Vodafone connections, could be the same thing telstaclear/ihug//wxc or any other provider they brought out.

There are too many TLAs in that answer for me to understand it.

For those who like me are not up with all the technical terms, I've googled so you don't have to :-)

GSP = Gaining Service Provider (2 Degrees)
LSP = Losing Service Provider.  (Skinny)
LFC = Local Fiber Company. (Enable)

TLA = Three Letter Acronym

So 2Degrees should be talking to Enable about transferring the account from Skinny.
Skinny has the 'correct' details.
Presumably 2Degrees has been provided with those 'correct' details

But something doesn't match with the man in the middle - Enable.

2Degrees don't "talk" to Enable they provide Enable the correct LSP assigned to the connection in the and it has to match what is in Enable's database, if it's wrong it gets rejected. this to stop the connection been SLAMed (I have attached a Wikipedia article, so you don't have to google)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_slamming

Chorus now don't require the correct LSP, an Alternative is the ONT Serial Number - Likely due to the fact of buyouts/merges of various providers. This doesn't appear to be the case with Enable.

I went through the same grief moving from BigPipe to 2D. I wanted a seamless move and I was told I would be offline for a day or so!  I posted my complaints here

In the end duffles from 2D helped me out. Basically provisioned 2D on the port 2 on the ONT so I had both running at the same time and just plugged my ethernet cable into port 2 to get 2D service while BP took their time to disconnect me.

Order a 2nd ONT port connection. Then once connected, cancel the old sevice.

Totally different issue, you placed a disconnection order before ordering your new connection.

Doesn't matter, the ONT port is locked with an in-flight from the time the order is placed, as you found out.

Port 2 becomes your only option.

Yes I should have not asked for a disconnection until the new provider was connected. So thanks for folks who recommended port 2 and to the 2D contact on GZ to make this happen.
