I was looking for nz and aus minutes and texts at an affordable price with eSIM and VoWiFi when in Australia (so no roaming costs) and was looking at the montly plans here https://www.2degrees.nz/mobile-plans/prepay

but then i went to https://www.2degrees.nz/hellodeals and found the current deals https://www.2degrees.nz/sites/default/files/2025-10/3_Nov-Hello-Deals-A4-Digital.pdf which has different monthly prepaid deals

so if i wanted unlimited minutes on the $15/month pdf deal- how do you buy it online?

if i sign up on the $8/month can i select the $15 next month?

sorry if this is explained elsewhere- my search terms did not find anything about this.

Your first link https://www.2degrees.nz/mobile-plans/prepay shows a $15/month plan with Unlimited calls/texts to NZ & Aussie for me.

Maybe they only just updated the website as you posted ?? Looks like new 2degrees prepay plans launched today as I don't recall seeing this plan when I checked only last month.

Yeah there were $13 and $19 monthly prepay plans.

But the $13 monthly plan was capped NZ/Aus minutes not unlimited*.

The $19 prepaid plan was 300 minutes and 1.5GB of data the $20 plan is unlimited calling and 2GB

Perfect for many people I know that really worry more about calling than data

yes- for the monthly prepaid options it was unlimited calls at and above $45/month so that kicking in at $15 so now at 1/3 of the cost.

thank you.

may as well keep going with the strange questions- on this page https://www.2degrees.nz/help/mobile-help/getting-started/bring-your-number-to-2degrees#how-top-bring-number

have they missed out the section on how to choose a new 022 number? do they mean 'you get the one associated with the sim' or can you pick one you like?

Prepaid Mobile numbers are pre-allocated in the 022 range and once you activate it you can then port an existing number from another NZ carrier to 2degrees

Was unfortunate timing for me, but glad they've updated the plans anyway (and I think the updates they've done are certainly better than Spark & One's changes a month & a half ago).

Making regular trips up north due to a family member that landed in hospital, had only just switched over to 2D on the 1st October, so had little calling banked up, and had been using a bit of it to keep his friends up to date.

Made the decision to jump to the $24/2week plan to try and bank up the carryover minutes before switching back to the monthly plans. Yesterday while at the hospital I got the text message to say that most of the plans were updated for unlimited calling.

All you can do really is just sigh and move on. Just glad it's not an issue going forward now and at least I'll have some decent data banked up for these trips.
