does slingshot expect every torrent to be illegal? i've been trying to download Fedora 11 preview with no luck, it starts for a few seconds and then my connection to slingshot gets dropped :(
to be able to use the internet again i have to restart my modem and stop my torrent client
drop your max connections on a POS dlink - they die when the nat table fills up, and on open source stuff there are always a massive number of peers prepared to accept connections.
I would also advise getting a new modem router. Most D-links models are notorious for disconnecting at various times. I'ld recommend a Dynalink 1025w which is what I have (I think)
Also I would check to see if there was an http mirror for it that you can plug into a download manager like GetRight

I would not recommend the 1025 or any other dynalink, they have a short lifespan and even when new are one of the least reliable modems I have run here.
Best I have found sofar has being a netgear dg834g - but they are as bad as linksys at making multiple revisions of it, I have no idea how the last 2 go, but the old adsl 1 version and the first of the adsl2 ones have being rock solid, normally not even needing a powercycle after an ISP outage.
GoodSync. Easily back up and sync your files with GoodSync. Simple and secure file backup and synchronisation software will ensure that your files are never lost (affiliate link).
i'm thinking of getting a Belkin N1 - anyone have used any of it's modem/router wireless models? i saw some (or most of their N1 series come with lifetime warranty)
Friend has one and has no end of problems with the wifi on it.... they seem to be one of those things that works great for some users and not at all for others.
