I'm not sure if this is an easy question to answer but I am going to ask it anyway.

At the moment I use a Vodafone New Zealand bought Sony Ericsson v630i.
It has all of the Vodafone Branding on it including a dedicated Vodafone Live Menu and Toolbar links.
As a default, my phone would turn on with a Vodafone Logo and Shut Down the same way.
I have turned off the start up Vodafone Logo but cant do the same with the Shut down one.

Will 2 degrees have a feature or place to be able to wipe the previous teleco's 'branding'
in place for some of their own?

In my opinon it would look awkward for me to have the Vodafone branding on my phone while I used 2 Degrees services!

Even if there was a way for me to just wipe the Vodafone Branding with say the software you would find on a parallel imported phone, that would be handy.

I am not sure bro but in someways it wouldn't be wrong to have the Vodafone Logo on there anyway because it run's off vodafone's network expect for in the city's

This is easily remedied by re-flashing your phones firmware with another networks, one which is more generic.. this would of course lost the Vodafone NZ Live stuff, and extra features.. the only way you would keep that is to keep the VF NZ firmware.
Telecom don't re-flash other network's phones, neither to VF NZ - so i really doubt that 2d will do that either. its more up to a Mobile enthusiast to re-flash with a custom modified version of the VF NZ firmware..

Take for example i brought an VF NZ LG KU-990. I had found dumps of the same firmware version for this phone from different UK networks such as Orange etc. I'm not keen to try as i don't want to lost my Vodafone live stuff etc.

Ahh re-flash, thats the word I was looking for!
Is this easy to do?
I dont really wont all the V Live links on my phone when I switch to 2 Degrees as it won't work and cost me cash.

umm yeah just a matter of hooking up your phone to your pc, via USB or whatnot, and switching the phone into a service mode where you can access the firmware files directly. I use a 3rd party tool to access these files on my LG. Maybe a google search might help?

BTW, flashing and reflashing are done at your own risk. I take no responsibility for any damage caused due to corrupt flash and/or brick as a result of reflashing.. /rant

I got bored and completly redid my motorola v360v and branded it for 2degrees. i have animated gifs, B&W external display tatoo, and browser button(replaces vf live buton) which i have created for startup screens etc. Pm me if you want these emailled to you or if you have a motorola i can email then theme i created

I dunno if I am actually allowed to post this info here (still a n00b lolz) but I will anyway.

First download this file I made Which has all the files you need (MAIN, FS, Custom files and A2 flasher/uploader)
Run ggsetup to install the drivers for the phone
(Sorry if a2uploader.exe comes up as a virus, its not my doing, its the person that made the program's. But I can assure you it is safe to use)

Then just follow this tutorial, swapping the main, fs and custom files for the ones you just downloaded from me (yes, k630 is correct. its a non-vodafone v640)

Any questions, just ask me. I have done this before, multiple times :D

For Windows Mobile I've added this image to the Windows folder. Name it CarrierLogo.gif. I'm told it must be this resolution, have not tries other sizes yet. I'm running WM 6.1 Pro on a Glofiish X610.

i havent found any evidence either sorry i only made those to rebrand my old v360v a custom vodafone branded phone. if someone did have genuine ones i wouldnt mind getting my hands on them.
