Ok so I have a Nokia N95 with a 2degrees sim in it. Over the last week, Ive been trying to connect to internet on the phone. However 90% of the time it wont connect and says the Network Connection has timed out. Also a MMS I tried to send today wouldnt send.

Any clue as to why this is?

Thanks

GS

Hey there,

Does your phone tell you if you are on a 3g signal or not? (sorry, I dont know much about the N95's). As far as I know 2 Degrees doesnt actually have a 3g network yet so you'll probably find the data rate just cant keep up with what your phone is expecting, hence the time outs.

Also you will have to setup the phone to use the MMS gateways for 2 Degrees with instructions here.

Actually, come to think of it, thats probably causing the time outs on the phone as it wont know the gateway to connect to for data. However even if that is the problem it will still be really slow if its running on 2g.

2 degrees have edge which is fine for browsing the mobile versions of websites on and similar. Even bloated sites load ok on it just slow, unlike VF when you drop back to GPRS where things do time out.

I was just using the internet apn I had setup for vodafone when trying 2 degrees data - but at the prices of it, its not something you want to be going particually fast...

i posted on another thread before but actually i'm still having problem with my internet connection with my Samsung i780.

i often have to reset my phone to get internet connection.. once it's connected, then it'll work fine.. until i stop browsing the internet for a while and when i try to reconnect.. then half the time the phone can't connect and i have to reset the phone.

for your case it sounds like your phone isn't storing the information about which access point to use while connecting, from your previous post it wasn't the apn settings but actually getting the phone to use the 2degrees ones out of the list you had.

I use the 2D EDGE network every day, its pretty fast really, loading pages isnt really any problem for me. Navigating on a Nokia with Opera is the only real lame thing about it for me. (and thats the phone not the connection)

In fact sometimes I use it BECAUSE of the speed... Its fast enough to do everything ud really need for browsing including multimedia.
