I've had my ups and downs with Orcon over the years, but for pretty much all of 2010, they've been fantastic to me.  Their pricing can't be beat... I'm on the Purple+ ($80/month for 25GB) with an additional 100GB allowance (+$80).  $160/125GB is so sweet.  Not only that, I have a megaupload.com premium account and downloading from megaupload my average speed is 1.8mb/s (yes, thats megabytes not megabits).

I've had no outages for the entire year, no speed issues national or international and I play a lot of online games too. Zero lag with WoW, Aion, AoC, CoD, BFBC2, SC2.

I am living in Eden Terrace, Auckland.  But, I am moving at the end of the month (albeit not very far from my current location).  I just hope that this service maintains after I've moved.

Regardless, cheers Orcon - worth every penny. <3

I have to agree. I have been with Orcon for about 4 years. Had a problem with monitored alarm when switching from Telecom to Orcon, but that was fixed quickly.

Had to have my port reset a couple of times when ppp wouldn’t come up & that was done while I was on the phone to them.

Using utorrent I can get 1.1mb download speed all the time (depending on seeds) (does anyone know how to get it to go faster as it appears to be a limitation of utorrent?)

I play wow and have between 250 and 500 ping times and don’t notice any lag with those times. I have played other on line games over the years and have had no problems.

I’m in Glenfield AKL.

Im in Glenfield as well using Orcon+, very few issues on the networking side of things in the couple of years Ive been with them...

The accounting system needs some changes though - you cant pay one off by CC online (was told it would be implemented very soon - that was over 6 months ago IIRC.) - you cant schedule a downgrade on your account over the phone - however you can schedule an upgrade. (ie: Was on Gold and wanted to go back to Silver, got told I would have to ring on the 22nd to organise it but if I wanted to upgrade they could schedule it for the next billing month (22/23rd) ).
