I tried to make the title as informative as possible.

How good is the video and audio quality over Skype on the 2D 3G network? I have a stick with the 2GB 30 days promotion on it and was thinking of using it to contact family and friends overseas and talk to them. Im in CHCH and a lot of them are all worked up (actually the quake seems to have affected them more than me oO )

So back on topic, are the calls stuttery or are they clear as they can be for NZ internet?

Cheers all

Chris

Because you have the stick and the data bundle surely the best bet is for you to give it a go as not everyone will have the same experience.

Report back of course :-)

I will indeed, the darndest thing though, all my British family and American friends are in bed! The lazy buggers are probably at work mind you, but i still thought i'd ask incase someone else had tried. If it sucks then i'll just zerg download somethings, perhaps the new Ubuntu beta of 10.10...

If i test it before anyone else replies i will of course reply in the most informative and mature manner ^^

Not sure if it counts for much but I've tried with the Skype Test Call and it was as clear and stable as a normal call.

2degrees' 3G network isn't bad but it does seem to pick and set up connections slower than the other networks resulting in a big initial pings at times.

Results may vary with signal strength and congestion.
