Over the weekend I had two confirmed instances of incoming texts not being received from two separate senders.

I was wondering if this is happening to other 2Degrees users. This is the first time I have had this confirmed as happening, that's not to say it hasn't happened to me before but this time I can confirm it.

If you PM me your number and the dates/times you expect that they were sent I can verify whether they were received by us.

Hi,

No known problems over the weekend. Can you PM me the details -

1. Your 2degrees #
2. Numbers that were trying to text you.
3. The network they're on.
4. Time/Date sent to you.
5. Phone make/model
6. The Sender and your location at time of sending.

Have the senders raised the issue with their network?

Cheers

Thanks SaltyNZ, I have responded to 2degreesCare by PM with the required info.

Appreciate the quick offers of help though.

Oh and in answer to the other post. No neither sender has reported anything to Vodabone as they are not aware of having any issues, as far as they are concerned the texts are leaving them fine.

Its all because of the textme race, it happend last time too. Salty may say otherwise but something is seriously wrong with the whole SMS on 2degrees network.

A few weeks ago I was texting a mate in real-time and then met up with him one hour later and as I was with him received a text from hours earlier. He is on telecom but still other mates can confirm this with their 022 and non ported 022 numbers.

Yeah it seems to be happening to me too. My phones signal has also been cutting out during calls.

If these texts are just late they are 2 & 3 days late so far.:)

Until you mentioned it, I had never even heard of the textme race, and I watch way too much TV.
Given the number of texts the leader has/had received, there is almost no point in even entering.
An insanely difficult feat to beat.

Have any of these incidents been logged with Customer Care?

I think it's starting to show with 2degrees... You get what you pay for. And with consistent delays of 1-2 hours is not something I call reliable.

The issue may not be with 2degrees if the texts involved are from/to other networks. I have heard semi-confidentially of an explanation and it isn't 2degrees fault.

Like the 2degrees people say . . . log the details with them and let them investigate. That will allow them to either fix the problem or defend their reputation.

Every instance I have seen mentioned so far has resulted in the fault being with another network rather than 2degrees.

Just as an update:
2Degrees confirmed that one of the missing texts never hit their network from Vodafone. [He never mentioned the second instance]
I asked my friend who's text I was missing, if she had anyone else not receive texts from her and she said one of her friends never received two from her last week and they are both on Vodafone.

So it is quite likely Vodafone at fault.  As I told Customer Care, I can't see either of these friends chasing up Vodafone about it as they are young girls and won't be bothered for the sake of a couple of missing texts.
The issue could be down to them being pre-pay Vodafone customers and you know how much Vodafone cares about them, I remember being on VFone-PPay and getting charged a dollar to be put through to customer care, getting spoken to in recorded spanish and then hung up on and still charged a dollar.

I think the more important observation is that Vodafone's unreliability could be the cause of numerous break-ups...

Well, in that case, I suggest a phone call. There are some things you need to be SURE not to miss.
