I guess they do that , because they could have a huge bill if someone is calling froma cell phone, and they are left on hold for hours.

I think the real question is why are people signing up to them. I believe is is because they are cheaper than the competition, or their prices appear to be better. Also they have invested alot in marketing.

I always wonder this too. I'd sign up for a bus crash before I'd sign up for Slingshot.

i got sick of waitting so i say i going to get slingshot to pay alot for my call by me calling from my cell phone and guess want they picked up less then 3 mins on my cell phone and was still on hold on the landline one

Yes, they seem to treat landline callers as second class, leaving them on hold and cutting them off.
