TVNZ on-demand on Slingshot?

We currently have Telecom Broadband, but as Telecom don't offer unmetered TVNZ ondemand, we are using 75% of our monthly allowance just on TVNZ.co.nz, limiting our usage of other websites.

Can anyone offer any opinions/past experience regarding TVNZ on demand on Slingshots all you can eat plan? Does the speed differ between the 'all you can eat' plan and Slingshots standard broadband plans?

They don't offer unmetered OnDemand on non-AYCE plans.

AYCE fluctuates constantly. No speed guarantees could be made. Maybe someone on that plan could comment.

Dont mind that slingshot dont offer tvnz on-demand, but as we are currently paying Telecom only $20 less that slingshots all you can eat plan, we would consider paying the extra $20 for all you can eat if they offer good speeds Nationally to TVNZ.

National speeds are supposed to be pretty good. I've not heard of anyone complaining about TVNZ on demand being slow, although there have been people complaining that streaming from youtube is painful.

It's painful on the regular plans.

We have the AYCE plan and TVNZ ondemand is usually fine. sometimes buffers after ads, but very rearly.
And for YouTube, I've found a trick that usually works. If it buffers too slow, just refresh the page and then it loads quick as.

l think it also depends on where you live and how many people are using the net in your area...

I'm in Dannemora, Auckland by the way...

I'm on ayce and have just tried(sunday morning) testing it out.

I played a few minutes of Big Bang Theory.
Streams fine at 1500kbit.

Other time's I've used it have also ran fine although i've just normally left it on 300 kbit.

On a side note:
What's with tvnzondemand asking ya which ad you want to watch now?
Clever surveying idea.

Note about ayce though:

Download(intl) speeds have been quite variable lately and have overall been declining.
