Hey I have just set mine up. Search 2 degrees APN settings here on geekzone and you should be able to find what your looking for.

Hi,
Instructions to set your message service centre number for your particular phone are here https://www.wireless.att.com/support_static_files/KB/KB74126.html

just -  key in +64220227672 as the setting. Lets get SMS working properly first.

Sending issues are invariably with the Service centre number - I assume that you have enough credit to send a txt?

Some handsets require the message centre number to be activated on the handset after it's saved like MMS settings.

Once you enter the message centre number check under options under messages and see if there is an activate option

Are you getting some form of failure message? Are the messages sitting in your outbox? Overseas forums are adamant that the + symbol needs to be present for the message centre number for this phone.

One thing I have found is if you set a fancy signature with a colour background etc then it may get treated as an MMS (picture message) - this would return an error on sending. I am making an assumption that phone/SIM storage is not an issue.
Other than that , like you I am somewhat stumped.

Anyone have one of these phones?

Apart from what Toiletduck and the others have said (thanks guys!) you might want to try, if possible, another 2D SIM in case it's faulty and not saving the SMSC properly.

You can pick up a free blank SIM from a 2degrees store or Warehouse Stationery and get your number transferred over by calling 200 or 0800 022022.

Can you PM your 2D number so I can see what troubleshooting has been done.

Once you have changed the settings are you powering off and on the phone? That's what I had to do to mine.
