Hey Guys

Looks like Quintin let the cat out of the bag on twitter, so I guess its ok to mention it here.

We are in the process of installing Steam Content servers on the Orcon network, with the view of making any content downloaded from this server free to Orcon customers (Ozoned).

We will also be installing gaming servers which will host dedicated gaming servers, which will also be Ozoned.

Will let you guys know closer to the time, but our aim is to have it all installed and running within 3-4 weeks.

The server we purchased was above spec too, so we will be able to host all of the content, rather than just the popular games which most other servers do.

AFAIK nobody has yet cached AND unmetered Steam, so not entirely sure what you are talking about.

Personally, I think it is awesome to unmeter Steam.  For those of us who use it a lot not only would it be great for buying new games and applying patches etc, but also for if my hardrive crashes I know I can re-download every single game I own from steam and it won’t cost anything – for me right now that is around half a terabyte of data.

They did.. on Orcon.. Content (unmetered) + servers + Rental...

Then Orcon got sold then Gamers got the pin pulled.

Not really. Gamers.net turned it into a business and rented servers etc out. This is going to be free for all and run by Orcon, so we can control quality.
