I got sick of waiting for Orcon to cut me over to Genius so decided to install the router and get it all ready.
Was suprised to find that I cannot set a DHCP address for a device based on device MAC address. Had a search through the Genius set up options and it appears that you get one DHCP range and unless you fiddle around with vlans or something.  I have a device that has trouble getting a DHCP address so in past I have set up a lease based on its MAC address and that worked fine.

Other than that the setup was pretty straight forward and I now have the Genius all ready to go when Orcon switch it on. Does anyone know how long this normally takes. Others seem to be up and running but its two weeks since I signed up and while the hardware come promptly the change over at Orcons end seems slow.

Cool - does anyone know if Ron would have been cut off if he was with another provider?

Nervous being without internet for that long - my wife would kill me lol

Thanks Just had a quick check but must be still in porting process. The Phone light has not lit up and I cannot get dial tone.
Will be patient and try again later
By the way I rang home number from another line and it went to voice mail and then a wav  file turned up in my mail. Tried to play wav faile and both Media Player and VLC said it was unsupported file. May be not quite qorking corectly so will try again later
