Has anyone else has issues with 2 degrees blocking websites? It appears to me that 2 degrees is preventing me from opening my utorrent web ui over their network. Has anyone else experienced this? I've tried different devices and connections and it works as long a it is not a 2 degrees connection. Its definitely not a configuration issue with utorrent. Any ideas?

What port ? If its not 80/8080/443, maybe they do block them.... but Im not sure myself, havent had any issues browsing using my 2D connection.

I'm sure the ports forwarded correctly, as i'm able to access from another cellphone using the same browser (Dolphin) over a telecom connection. I can also access it on my cell using a Wifi connection (not on the same network as utorrent). My mate also can't access it on his 2 degrees cellphone, unless also on a wifi connection. Its on port 6002. I can't access it either through the browser or using apps that use the web ui for access, although these do work when on wifi again! Additionaly, I can access other content on that server over port 80 through the browser.

Could be the APN you're using issue blocking uninitiated inbound traffic.

Telcos offer different APNs for different uses. The most common allows all outbound connections, but no unsolicited inbound connections. Depending on needs, changing the APN solve inbound related problems.

Those are measures to avoid unsolicited connections, unsolicited traffic, etc.

That makes a lot more sense than my conspiracy theories haha. I’ve done a big of Google work to track down an alternative set of APN settings but can’t find anything other than those that import off my sim card. Has anyone found an alternative set?

Yeah I’ve tried the internet APN, it’s the only configuration set I’ve found. However I’ve just noticed that I am able to access another program’s web ui that is set to the 4000 port range fine! Changing everything to this range solves the problem. So for whatever reason it appears things stop working somewhere between the 4000 – 6000+ port range. I’m sure there is a reason behind 2 Degrees blocking traffic past this point but it escapes me. Therefore I’ve just gone with the simple fix and have moved everything to this port range. Thanks for all your helpful replies guys.

We don't block any legitimate customer traffic, but we will trash out-of-state traffic inbound from the internet.

Extremely welcome hand-holding from the network provider. Default APNs pretty well firewall the customer for incoming.

Very easy to opt out of by using that providers direct APN, unfirewalled.
