Hi,

I'm thinking of getting Genius Lite but just wondering if I can string more than one normal old analogue phone off the Genius Lite box?

I have 2 phones in the house (god, I used to have 6 in a previous house), and I understand I can plug one in the side of the Genius Lite box. But how about having more than 1 in parallel? Ie, rewiring the phone jack points in my home to come from the Genius box rather than the street.

Surely they can't limit you to 1 phone (or 2 with Genius full)!

This has already been discussed on here a few times. The answer isn't a simple one, it needs to be calculated.

Every Telepermitted device such as the Genius, along with every phone, will have a rated REN value. These details can be viewed on the Telepermit site by entering the Telepermit number into the site.

For most VoIP adapters the REN will be 3 (and Genius may differ, I'll leave that up to you to find out since I don't own one). For an analogue phone the REN will typically vary between 0.5 and 1.5 so you could hook up 2 x 1.5 REN phones, and 6 x .5 REN phones.

Ahhh, thanks sbiddle, I was hoping it was something like that. I'll look up those old threads.
