(Posting here because I can't get to the 2degrees site and I know some of their staff watch here)

I'm at Papamoa beach on a 3G stick and it's all working extremely well, except for one thing. DNS lookups to 2degrees own websites periodically fail when everything else is working fine. Occasionally you can get to the main site but not to the secure domain to log in. The problem seems to be DNS related because it can't resolve those names at all. DNS servers are 118.184.1.10 and .20 (allocated automatically). No other names seem to be having problems.

Cheers,

 Julian.

Seems to work OK for me in Auckland

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

I'd recommend changing the DNS servers to Google's Open DNS, just as a test for a couple of days to see if the problem does lie with 2degrees DNS or not. Google's IP's are below

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Are you entering the 118.184 manually?

Our domain is 118.148.... not 118.184.

Our domain is 118.148.... not 118.184.

Well spotted - I typed it wrong in my post. This is what I have:

Primary DNS : 118.148.1.10
Secondary DNS : 118.148.1.20

Not seeing the problem today so hopefully it was transient.
