OK, now that Skinny has launched and competition is increasing I thought that I would put together my wishlist;

The 22/2c rate following a topup to be made offnet as well as on-net, and also this should be the overage rate for those on plans
The $19 combo updated to match the Vodafone prepay smart offering (50 mins, 100 Mb)
A price drop on the 100 minute value pack - somewhere between $15 and $20.

I would also like a $15/500 mb mobile broadband datapack so that I could convince my mum to get off dialup

Anyone else have a wishlist?

I would like to see a text pack that is somewhere between the current offerings. $5 for 1000 texts would be ideal.

I can't see 2degrees offering a smaller text pack, they know that the majority of people with it probably don't even use half of it, so its more profitable to leave it higher.

Same for the $20 mobile broadband 1gb pack. A lot of people would be fine with a smaller amount, especially for smartphones, but they know that the 100mb national packs are too small, and they can easily sell packs like the 1gb+ on their own network equipment.

I too would shift to 2degrees if i could get a higher amount of national data for cheaper - at current rates i'd be paying $50 just for 500mb data, then another $10 for texts for the same amount as i get on telecom for $28 atm (expires soon, zzz). And you'd just join one of their monthly plans if you were going to pay that much - but i'm certainly not going to.

edit: and earlier today comparing a roaming 2deg phone with decent ("2-3 bars", -97dbM) signal on vodafone 2G (it cant get a lock on 3G, even when set to wcdma only), with a phone with rubbish signal ("0 bars", -109 to -113dBM) signal on XT, the GPRS data on vodafone is entirely unusable (smartphone cant load google), and yet the intermittent XT signal actually works impressively well. The vodafone tower is geographically closer too and there are far less obstacles in the way.

I'm going to get flamed because, I know this isn't comparing apples with apples even in the slightest, let alone a scientific test but the fact of the matter is XT seems to work far more consistently for my real world scenarios.

I'm actually posting and browsing from said XT connection now. And said phone on 2degrees is owned by someone who is rather annoyed they can't use the 100mb of data they just bought.

It would be nice to be able to make your own pack. When at home, I would be happy with 30 minutes/mth, 100 texts/mth, 20MB data/mth. Travelling within NZ, then 30mins, 200 texts, 100MB.

2 degrees should pay me to use their service. It is a natural extension of where this thread is going.

Seriously though, I would be happy for a slightly more data focussed plan. I have the $30 plan with 60 mins calling, more texts than I have ever sent in my life and 50 mb data. If it went to a $35 plan with 150mb national data and all the rest of the stuff stayed the same, I would be stoked. This is a slight discount over buying the pay monthly plan and a $10 100mb data pack, but gives a bit more data than the plan plus a $6 50mb data pack.
